We grow from our shared stories

I was born in Woods Hole, MA and grew up in Miami, Florida, New Haven, CT, Woods Hole, MA and New York City, NY. Encouraged to love nature (even human nature), books, and to question authority, I became a muralist, zine creator and published author/illustrator. I am grateful for the international stories I was told from the beginning. Shaped by poetry and public health teachers along the way. I have studied and worked in Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean, as well as the diverse United States.

this collage of the yard I grew up in and a brave school girl was donated to the American Booksellers Foundation for Freedom of Expression to fight censorship!
